As usual, it's good to see there's so many people that know better than Mourinho & Co.

I'm just surprised that Peter Henry hasn't managed to bring his Ducati into this thread yet

I never said "I know better", in fact I'll go on record as saying that he is generally a brilliant manager (almost as good as Wenger). But I wish he'd concentrate on what he does best and just STF up at times. He makes himself look like a right w*nker and it doesn't do the club any favours...

The stuff he did with FCPorto was nothing short of amazing, he basically took a team which was fubar and in 2 years time he led them to win the European Championship.
The guy clearly knows his football, and from what I hear from people who know him, he uses arrogance as some sort of self-defense. But I have too agree he uses it to an extremely annoying extent... to say the least...

whooooooa there Mr Jelster - wasn't aimed at you

I just find it amusing how many experts we have, especially with the benefit of hindsight.

it's quite easy to state that the lone striker was a bad idea after Chelsea have lost. There would be just as strong an arguement to suggest that if they had played two up front, this would have exposed them further, and the game be out of sight in the first 20 minutes. Then there would be the same people in here slating the 'gung-ho' tactics.

And lol at PH

Droc...Your comment means exactly what?
You obviously have problems. Kn*b.

I think JoseŽis a fine manager and tactician although his game plan was I think ill advised last night. Better to have tried and failed in my opinion by using the two striker option. But yes everyone is entitled to their own view and the power of hinsight is a wonderful thing.
His footballing credentials are indeed excellent and is for me one of the best in europe alongside Arsen Wenger and Rafa Benitez. However I do believe that he has a tendency to play to his public arrogant persona way too much, which leads people to over look what other factors he brings to the game.

If you want to see how a manager should conduct himself, one that has undivided loyalty of his players, fans and directors of the club....then look no further than Frank Rijkaard. He turned around a rudderless ship at the Nou Camp,(not immediately I hasten to add) and deserves all of the success he gets. Excellent footballing brain and very nice guy.

J:M: is not rubbish and nor are Chelsea based on one defeat in europe,in fact they have lost against one of the two top teams in europe at the moment, the other being Juventus.

I stand to be corrected on all point made however.
Pete: Did you see Beckhams excellent deliveries last night?? (Joke, I do realise he has been quite excellent for Madrid). My point about dropping him for England is that we bow down to accommodate the players when, personally, I feel Englands best chance of success would be the following midfield:
J. Cole - Lampard - Parker - Gerrard.
Cole has been a revelation this season, playing Parker will let Lampard free to try an emulate his Premiership form and Gerrard has been (once again) outstanding playing right side for Liverpool - deliveries that can match Beckhams plus much (MUCH) more of a goal threat.
Quite how we then accomodate Shaun Wright-Philips in all this remains to be seen.

I think Chelsea also have that problem

As much as it pains me to say it, England would be less than the sum of its parts without Beckham. He's a hardworking highly skilled footballer who is probably the best crosser of the ball from the right.

He is also one of those players that can produce you something just when you need it... Remember the game against Greece ? Who else would you rather have taking a free kick in that situation ?
