Wow. Good thread. Anything patriotic gets me going. God Save The Queen always brings a tear to my eye. A few other patriotic songs really get me going too, but I won't go into that!!

Good choice. Did you know that was a Nine Inch Nails song?

Funny to think of Johnny Cash listening to NIN.
Johnny Cash was cool.

This one, similar Imagine in a lot of ways, brings a tear to the eye every time. http://youtube.com/watch?v=BFZf6OHoNuA

Yeah, I know it as a NIN song, but I think the JC version is epic, emotive? You betcha.

On a national anthem I prefer our non official, Official anthem, verse three seems to be the one No one remembers

Those days are past now,
And in the past
they must remain,
But we can still rise now,
And be the nation again,
That stood against him,
Proud Edward's Army,
And sent him homeward,
Tae think again.

On a personnal level a song that kills me, it makes me stop, has only a few lines, but they say everything to me about the girl I love;

When you shine
You know you take
A massive part out of me
And when you smile
You know you blind me
To all the horrors i see

Smile by Spiritualized, it just makes me think of Kirsteen and its the way I feel about her... Most of the time

Oh yeah. I much prefer JC's version. I just think that its mad that JC was whatever age, listening to NIN.

Like I said. He was a cool guy. Just saw Walk The Line. Not bad.

Wires By Athlete, Reminds me of when My son Jake , just a week old had to be rushed back into hospital in Hannover Germany.
Non of the nurses spoke good english and I spoke little German...
Turned out he had a liver infection.. but he was ok a week later thank goodness.
I rang my mum from the car park in floods of tears and 5 hours later she arrived in Hannover to look after my daughter so We, sam and I could spend more time with Jake.
Brilliant song, and one that will remain in my heart.
