Depends on whats going on at the time and how he behaves. If Im passing someone whos weaving and making me nervous and hes then adding pressure on by being on my **** and revving, then Ill go through and pull over when I know Ive annoyed him enough.

Someone comes up behind me, knows Ive seen them but not moved and gives me the room/time to sort out what Im doing, move over as soon as I can.

If Im at a point if I pull over Ill have to stop and let about 20 bikes through I will rarely do it. Its not like at that point anyone going through really gets that far ahead.

Ill come up close enough to indicate I want to come through, but not close enough to annoy them. However if theyre just going to sit there and not have the courtesy to move into gaps and let faster bikes through Ill go round another way.

When you come up to traffic lights and theres a queue of cars to your left, you could get in front with ease. No other biker can get in front of the cars though. You can move forwards accross the line, you can still see the lights, no danger, not impearing any pedestrians, and all the bikes behined you can fit in..... Do you move forward, or do you not even pay attention?
Always pay attention in case someones asleep and going to ram me from behind. Always move forward to let bikes in and through.

With me, it depends on what the other bikers riding like to be honest.

If I'm filtering in front and they seem content behind me then I just carry on, but if they are dicking about, sitting right up my tailpipe or showing obvious signs of wanting to get ahead then I'll pull over at the earliest opportunity.
Though not to be nice to them so much as to let them get away from me so I can relax again.

Likewise if I come up behind someone else I'm always very patient with them and give them plenty of room. If they pull over to let me through then I'll take the opportunity and thank them, but if not and there's no other safe way round (again, giving them room rather than stealing thier potential gaps) I'll sit back and enjoy the scenery.
It's amazing how many cars have a box of tissues on the rear parcel shelf!

As for junctions, I'll always pull slightly forward anyway - it help to stop cars trying to cross infront of you if you are already half a bike length infront of their bumper.
But as for pushing so far ahead that I can move over for others to follow - I can't actually remember ever being in that kind of situation at a junction - either infront of another bike or behind!
I must have been at least once in 19 years but I can't for the life of me remember it!

I guess it would depend on the depth of the junction etc as to whether I would or not.

I do filter - don't we all? - but I'm probably not the fastest. Why rush to get to work, and it's nice to get home afterwards without getting squashed or mashed. I'm always happy to let the faster filterers past cos I catch 'em at the next lights anyway

One thing I do do (no, not going to break into a Police song here ) if I can't get to the front at lights is to move over in my lane to leave room for another bike to fit in.

Not many riders use the space, either because they because they haven't seen/realised what I've done or because they are jealous of my lovely, shiney Hornet
