I used to commute Newbury to London everyday. My commute was about 150 mile round trip. This also on a naked SV. Never had any problem with it. Ride long enough on a naked and you'll get used to the speed and muscles will build. I can sit doing a ton all day and it doesn't bother me.

Well I am just about to move to Leam so it should be only 30 miles each way. Can't take public transport as the job is actually in the middle of nowhere north of Oxford. I have to say I am getting used to it now, although the seat is still uncomfortable (knew about that before though) and I am still getting the nerve tingling after each ride. I think I am going to use my girlfriends car for when it gets rainy and wet, but at the moment despite all the bad points, I still love riding my bike, and kind of look forward to the commute as an excuse to ride. Big traffic jam on the M40 a few days ago meant I filtered for miles and it was wicked. I love filtering strangely...

No its not strange. It develops your skills, mental alertness and makes you a better rider imho for doing it. Just dont get overconfident and go faster than you can stop safely and learn to look for those subtle clues of a lane change without a mirror check.

Oh and on a big motorway jam - be very, very prepared for people getting out their cars and wandering about presuming nothing else is moving.
