Idle Banter For non SV and non bike related chat (and the odd bit of humour - but if any post isn't suitable it'll get deleted real quick).
There's also a "U" rating so please respect this. Newbies can also say "hello" here too.

One of the more unusual reasons for a flounce gesture.

This is developing in to a rather sad phase for the good ship SV.Org in my humble opinion.

PH - I thought that you made it clear yesterday that it was end of discussion - so why reference it today? I am happy with it being left that way - I could clearly explain my statement yesterday but it fell on deaf ears, so do not wish to continue.

I noticed you said this about users of this site before and i genuinely am suprised you think that type of person is registered on this site.

Most of the peeps on here seem to have an opinion of their own on almost any random topic thats been posted, from best routes to x or y, or advice about the colour of someones after market add ons.

It'd be as shame for you to leave just beacuse some peeps choose to discuss certain topics. I'm not into rock music and the number of "Best rock album" or "best rock track" posts just get ignored by me. Those who wanna discuss it can but as its of no intrest to me i ignore it.

I really do wish some of you guys who are getting so wound up by some of the recent "political" topics would just ignore them if they are no intrest and just Moderate them if you have to without actually taking any of it in. Obviously not having ever been a mod of any forum myself i can understand that what i've just said may well be easier said (typed) than done but i just dont want to loose any of the good contributors o this site ...or to have to dicuss on what the moderators want us to discuss.
I'm sure that if some mods had their way there would be nothing but bikes and the occasional topic that a mod thought was "acceptable".

Cant we all juts get on?

Maybe a ban on political discussion would help?

I hadn't noticed anything! Then again, I usually don't read the big argument threads. Can I just say hat everyone here seems nice, so don't all just leave, I need my advice, and the intelligent* conversation!

* Warning: conversation may not be intelligent

Ah......the "nose and face" option........

No need to go El Boc. Trolls will move on when they've had their say and peeps begin to ignore 'em.

I'm with Ping on this one. Sums up my view entirely.

And I still don't believe that the Troll in question is a real person

I have used this site for over 6 years, and have seen it grow into a community with a diverse mixture of people and views.

For the most, it is a great place to use.

Sometimes however it really ****es me off with the way that it has changed. Some people seem to think that they can join the site and then start winding everyone up without having gained the respect of others (anyone else remember 'Jimmy Jam'?

There are some that contribute a hell of a lot to this BIKING community, providing great advice, intelligent opinions and the occasional bit of humour - often without any thanks.

These people are not 'elitist', to me they are highly valued and I think that this community will be a lot worse without them. I am here because (on the whole) I like the people and the discussion that take place, not because I think I (or anyone else) has a right to be here or because I want to use this site to express my views on subjects that are not related to biking or may antagonise others.

This is a biking forum, and not a mass debating society.

Yes, ofcourse. I have abided by all forums rules so far, that I am aware of.
