The distance involved is too great for most people which is why I was genuinely impressed by the Scottish turnout, which should be held as an example to those weaklings who felt riding a hundred miles to get there this year was too far.

So basically, the geography's against you .

The good news is that you get to see sunshine and blue sky .

I'd quite happily go up to Scotland I love it up there. However I realise its a bit of a trek so we'd probably take a few days either side of the rideout and make a trip out of it and plan a non motorway route up there with a stop over. But I realise that not everybody else can do that.

Basically more of the same please !! it was a great weekend. The distance for Liz and I to the campsite was 160 miles from her front door. Which was just about right especially with all the luggage I had to carry !!!

I thought the campsite was great, Even though I hate camping !! I like the idea of being able to have an open fire though.

I think i'll have to agree with jonboy on this one, a trip up to Scotland would be great for the AR but as said a few people would be up for it but that would be it. It was 180 miles for us to the AR07 which i dont have a problem with but some people probably didn't go cos they thought it was too far?

I wasn't saying there couldn't be the AR as usual but I was thinking of something was just SV... as it would be nice not to have to race all the other 1000cc bikes.

I don't think it was necessarily just the 1000cc bikes racing. Plus it's been said before no one had to race. (Never mind no one should have been racing)

You want to ban SV1000s as well?

Glad you're not Admin

I personally agree wih Jonboy's sentiments on this whole affair.

As far as an Annual Rideout is concerned then Scoland is too far for those living south of say Birmingham/Coventry/Peterborough. (If its too far for you and you live North of that line then your a wimp )

It should not however detract us from the possibility of having an additional 'adventure weekend' for the more hardy souls at the tail end of summer where you can experience some cracking roads and some breathtaking scenery.

I think that these two areas of focus could be considered with perhaps a first 'sticky' for a 'Scotland Adventure Weekend' and a further sticky for proposals for the location of the annual rideout for 2007 within the areas previously discussed and delineated by a red circle in a previous discussion thread.

Sound like a plan
