Crikey!

I agree lucky he died doing what he loved, it is his wife & kids that have my sympathies.

I'm sure he would see the funny side of BBC/Stingray - His child outside the shark cage - funny

RIP

Always sad to lose an oddball. Unforrtunately, all I can think of is really inappropriate comments for some reason. Mainly because of South Park.

Anyone who has passion for their subject inspires me - Steve Irwin, David Attenborough, Roy Keane (I am not interested in football!), Michael Wood (historian), even some on the freaks on the Baldrick history prog, and to lose someone who is so passionate about their subject is a loss to the subject.

His TV never really had the gravity of say David Attenborough, but his passion and pleasure in what he did was a pleasure to watch. Terrible loss that it is, he died doing what he loved, so a small consolation for the family.

I see the crocadile hunter site is down - guess it's just too busy. That sums up how many people he affected.

Strangely enough I got "flopped over" (no other way of describing it really!) by a sting ray about 3 feet across when I was in Belize (shortly before the nurse shark (no real teeth) decided he was hungry and wanted to know if I had any food for him!) - it didn't occur to me that it could have been *really* dangerous.
