No, just coincidental timing that this trip is coming up. Though I cant see Borat ever being on the Air Astana in flight movie list.

Yes - there's a place called Itchy Feet in Soho - I think it's on Wardour Street, or one of those ones parallel to it. It's a shop for globetrotters such as yourself. I swear by the the Merino wool "Ice Breaker" top that I bought in there last winter. Nice and thin but keeps you warm.

No - I won't be in Soho this week. I'll be being a pop tart at Ally Pally watching Keane.

Hope to see everyone on Sunday though for Viney's rideout.

If you're still short a clutch lever swing by, it's in my tank bag.

See you all this evening!

Note to all

I've sent a long email to the local community plod, PC Jim Sollars, explaining the Frith St situation in detail and suggesting that a blind eye is turned if we're prepared to be very quiet, very well behaved, and leave by 9.30 pm on a trial basis (we can possibly extend this if we get their cooperation).

So if he's about tonight, and I suspect he will be, he will either walk past or ask you to move on. Now if he does ask you to move, can we make sure that it's done with a polite nod, quickly and calmly, so that at least he can see we're not troublemakers, and are prepared to peacefully comply with his requests. This way we have a far better chance of our longterm goal of staying put in Frith St.

Now I can't be there tonight, but will be there next Friday where I hope to have another long (and friendly) chat with him. Although he can come across as a bit brusque, if we treat him right, I don't think he's such a bad bloke, and could well play ball if we can manipulate the circumstances so that his life is a lot easier.

We have nothing to lose (apart from our fave spot) so how does that sound?
