Will the fz6 do 160ish? or as i suspect, is he talkin outta his tea towel holder?
weight has no effect on top speed, only acceleration to the top speed. the secondary aerodynamic effect of the size/weight may, however, have some bearing

if an SV has ~70bhp & will do an indicated 135(ish) then an FZ6 with ~100bhp should probably do an indicated 160(ish). I've had an indicated 145 from my FZS600 which is ~90bhp
It makes a difference when you are on an uphill slope.

I saw 147/148mph on the clock of my old SV (closed road officer). I had the very same discusion last year on the forum and i established that mine was the quickest Sv650s ever made!

I now have an RSV1000R which is somewhat quicker

I'd agree that my K6-S has some pull up & beyond 130mph on a private runway.

Vtwinlover, I think I may have the re-incarnation of your bike, having seen similar indicated speeds.

I've also had a 'test flight' on an R1. And boy oh boy do I want a serious talking with the bank manager! But that's a little off topic...

Mine'll get to an indicated 130- though my speedo's almost accurate, with the rear wheel speedo drive- but by that time it's accelerating veeeeeery sloooooowly And also generally giving the impression it's going to explode.

SV650- pretty good at 60mph. Rubbish at 130

My speedo is entirely stock, so probably vastly inaccurate, but acceleration isn't that sluggish up there. Also, I've not had mine want to explode on me yet, I guess I've not been pushing hard enough

I had 139 or 140 out of my SV (06 plate) and have had about 150 on my Hornet. Obviously the Hairnet being unfaired was a little more...interesting! Not sure what the Z1000 can do.....YET!

speedos usually overread by 10%

So 140 may be 126 and so on.

100mph is on the clocks is usually 90 in real money.

I made it a bit more than that when I compared the Veypor with the stock clocks on a 120/60- At 120 on the SV clocks it was almost bang on 105. But some people have had different results, which is odd, as if the error can vary from bike to bike. But by running the speedo off the rear wheel, the taller tyre puts you within a percent or 2, which is nice Almost like it was supposed to go there.
