Speedos are about 10% out though out as by law can be over but not under on car/bikes coach/hgvs hav to be bob on wen i worked at for a coach company and followed one in mini bus mine would say 70 wen coaches are limited to 62.5mph

SV speedos are extremely generous - anybody who believes their 70 horse, 360+ pound bike will do 140, (or anything like it), is wrong.

It's in the manufacturers interests to make them read the maximum +10% as that way our service intervals come up quicker so they can rake in more cash. I altered my gearing so it's about right now according to GPS

Or it is on the Curvey anyway, not sure about the pointy. From what I've read changing the profile of the front tyre can make a difference. But TBH at stupid speeds I'm not really watching the speedo I'm watching the road.

Well on my bikes, SV1000s, they are driven from a sensor on the front sprocket.
