I do like cruisers, but it's a different sort of ride. I have to admit to having a soft spot for the Suzuki 800cc thingy, the Penetrator or whatever it's called... Very good looking machine, nice engine, and it even corners. A bit.

Then, I'm biased because I learned on a Virago 125.

I dont blame you for wanting one. I must admit I would consider getting one in the future. Only because it was considered super cool when I was growing up - and still is in the eyes of most non-bikers - and mine. I like the look of the Night Rod - its just a cool looking bike and I would buy it for that one reason alone.

Someone tell me its not cool?

This XR1200 protobike is also very cool. Reminds me a little of the Triumph Scrambler - but cooler.

I'd still have to keep something sporty though.

They look pretty. I've always though of Harleys as top of the line cruisers. Buells are performance bikes which need to compared with proper sports bikes - it sort of leaves them in the middle of the pack for me.

Yeah, Buell get away with a lot by being the leftfield choice. They are not daft, Erik Buell could build a sports bike with a japanese or italian sourced motor in that'd be stunning, but it'd have a load of competition. The current Buells have no direct competitors, only a small market but they completely own it.

That i am afraid is not the new 1200 thingy, its a Storz XR replica(California special builder/special parts "dudes") They have been building them for decades. Sorry for being pedantic but its a bike that is in my top ten fantasy garage! Been lusting after a storz rep for years!
