Michael Bay? Oh dear...looking at the list of films he has done does not give confidence. The best film he has done is The Rock which I think is the alcatraz thingy.

However Rotten Tomatoes gives it 59% so it ain't good but it is no means bad.

Better than Shrek 3(not difficult) and Pirates OTC 3, equal to Spiderman 3 and but not as good as Toy Story.

The critics say it is dumb, loud and cheesy. TBH, I would have it no other way

The vacuous (sic?) djs on Kiss fm at 7.30 said it was the best action movie ever.

Better than Terminator 2. Erm, right. T2 the "best action movie ever".

I always worry when idiiots praise a movie.

I went and saw this last night. It's OK. Michael Bay missed the mark by less than he did when he made Pearl Harbor It has big robots fighting, and it's extremely dumb, but it's also mainly good solid entertainment. You'll need to turn your suspension of disbelief up, the fighting robots are one thing but the actual plot takes more effort to buy into.

The effects are mostly pretty good- the stills look bad, but in motion the models are mostly very good, and they have an excellent weight about them that's usually missing from CGI. But obviously, there's a lot of it, since it's a film about Big Robots Fighting. There's also a Mille in it, which naturally sounds like an IL4.

Also, when we got into the cinema they were playing the soundtrack from the last one, which put all the old geeks in the mood (the entire audience was in the 30-20 bracket, naturally)

I was really disappointed. Saw it at the 1am showing down St Reatham.

Weak plot.
2-d characterisation. All stereotypes...
Way too long.

I fell asleep during this movie, I was that bored!

Here's hoping Die Hard, Rambo & Shrek are better!
