All that MotoGP has shown me that ducati know how to make a fast bike. I wouldnt buy a ducati on the back of its motogp success though. Maybe on the back of its WSBK success, yes

But it still comes down to how I find the bike when I ride it. I don't care if this bike or that bike has X amount of technomological doowits on it...if it aint comfy, dosnt perform how I like it and blows up every two minutes, I dont want to know!

Ducati have a 40 year history of making good race bikes, and their current form in motogp is part of that. Also,in the 916 family they probably made the best looking bike ever,so they certainly are a desirable brand, but would I buy one?Maybe, but not as a main bike.I still believe there are reliability, build quality and customer service issues with them,so I would be a bit reluctant.
I did have one many years ago---a Desmo 250 in bright yellow, and it crap*ed all over the competition then, but the competition is stronger now.

Monster's are not altogether my cup of tea, however if city commuting and posing were my thing,I would definitely look at one.

Not a lot wrong with a Gixxer,(in fact they are superb) but you must remember as good as they are...they are just another Gixxer. If I had to explain the difference it would not mean anything to you. Ducati purchase means you buy in to a whole lot more than the particular model that catches your eye.

I am not buying a Ducati next as I am looking for something a little different from my 749.(My overall plan though is to see who does bring out an all singing and dancing race rep V4) I am to temporarily fall back in to the ranks of just another motorcycle owner.LOL.

Monsters are great looking. Certainly one of the best classicish naked bikes.

+ 1

Its not all just Stoner, what about Capirex and Baylis in the last round of last year. Ducati have won races in MotoGp before, its this year Casey has taken his riding to another higher level IMHO.

I think all its done because Moto GP is more popular now and the dominance they had in WSB has gone, is open up Ducati as a brand to another audience. Its a bit like people who go to Moto GP and only know who Rossi is, kind of..
