TBH, my name is 'cos the bike is blue and my namne is Pete. And I have little or no imagination!
Worth stressing though, these signs are at the exit to all Police Stations!

I must have even less imagination than you then! (I know, was just trying a play on words on your name)

Ok - I saw the word 'stations' in the original post & didn't make the connection with Police Station - I was thinking petrol / railway etc - & was under the impression that it was there to remind us, the general public of the law.

I don't suppose you could replace it with one that says :-

"2 wheels good", "4 wheels bad"

could you ?

Chuckle, love it You'd have to do the deed tho, I'm not brave enough to go vandalise police station signage (though as a yoof, we did plant some "special" seeds in the flower tubs outside our local, but the tubs got removed before we could see the fruit of our horticultural expertise, summit about the IRA blowing up flower pots or something).

On the original signage, I can understand the reminder to be honest, a lot of folks (myself included) get wound up by a perceived (and it's worth a moderate stress on the word "perceived") double standard, one rule for "them", and another for "us" sort of thing. Though I'd have thought the Hawaii 5-0 would have some sort of special dispensation against the seatbelts thing? Don't you have to leap out of cars and chase guys carrying bags marked "swag" from time to time?

On wearing seatbelts for the rest of us. Tough, do it. All the time. I don't care if you don't like it. If not for your benefit, then do it for the benefit of the eight year old that instead of getting to see a car crash into a lampost now gets to see your ugly mug, now detached from your shoulders, crash through your windscreen, splatter down the road and land at his feet, you selfish little shi*ts....

I'm a liberal, I don't like the state telling me what to do, but I'm also a pragmatist, and have a sense of social responsibility. Sometimes the state tells you what to do, and sometimes they're actually right to do so. You don't think that the completely innocent guy you crash into the back of and die because you weren't wearing a seat belt isn't going to think about that and feel guilty every day for the rest of their lives? I used to work at Railtrack, I met a couple of drivers (and I was led to believe that something like 1 in 4 drivers go through the same situation) that have "killed" people who were drunk/suicidal/larking around on the track. From the outside, the blame lies entirely with the deceased, but I tell you - to those drivers, they know they killed that person, they did it, they are responsible and think about it and feel guilt about it every single day.

So wear your seatbelt, and wear your bike lid.
