Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
Caliper bolts turned up today so i've managed to get it back together and the rear bled and it all seems good and at the moment my bike is fully roadworthy again. Now i need to decide if i should change the front hoses before sunday and risk messing something up and miss the ride or leave them till next weekend. chances are i'll get bored whilst the wife is watching something on tv and just go out and channge them!

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
It doesn't look too tricky to do, famous last words I know...if you got busy on it soon atleast you'd have someone here to help you through before the weekend.
Is the tubing you have good enough for the job?

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
Quick question about insurance for you guys in the know....
What mods on the bike would you consider need you to notify the insurance company? Is it just major performance enhancing ones? I am sure things like a tail tidy and other cosmetic stuff like that are totally irrelevant but what about an aftermarket exhaust, rear shock, new front springs/oil or even a gsx-r front end etc etc? I can just see the insurance company wanting to add something silly onto a premium for no good reason....and I just want to weigh up all the options...

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
None of them, not even the exhaust, as none of them increase the performance.
I'd notify them if I ever install the pointy inlet cams as they raise the Bhp from stock. One caveat, depends on the insurance co, read the small print in your policy

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
You don't notify your isurance company when you replace worn out bits do you. If they took this view, you'd have to notify them when you changed your tyres
So when you get rid of those original tyres and get some better ones, do you think you need to let them know? If I bolted on a turbo it might be different, but replacing a worn out OEM shock with something newer and better is not really a performance upgrade. A GSXR front end might fall into the grey area as its not OEM fitment
