Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Bumped into my neighbour this afternoon to get the skinny on why our power went out for over eight hours on Friday, why there were lots of National Grid vans around most of the day, as well as several plod cars and vans and a very large hole in the road/pavement/garden two doors up on the other side of the road. We also had by mid afternoon a massive diesel generator on a flatbed truck which has mercifully not run out of fuel or been nicked (by light-fingered people who don't live in houses) over the weekend.
Turns out it was an electrical explosion, quite a biggie according to the electrickery guys. Seems the people who had rented the house had just cultivated a big crop of cannabis and were ramping up for the next when they went too far and overloaded their jury-rigged supply. That means we'll be offline again for a few hours once they get the right cables to site and link us back up again. Still, it's given us something to talk about and if the landlord decided to let to these people they offered two years rent up front in cash (hello!! Fraud red flag!!!) it's his problem. Apparently the place is trashed and his insurance will probably not cover it. Still find it amazing how she finds out all this gossip within minutes of something happening...

Had a grow house down the road a few years ago, place was trashed too. If you're a landlord, it might pay to visit your properties once in a while

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
A mate from Matlock is down south with work so we had cheap pizza and wine using my student discount, and had a good old gossip. He used to play for a Middlesex but since retiring I rarely see him so this was an unexpected treat four a Monday night.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
My indicators self cancel. I think it's pretty standard on the GS range.

Their cars do as well. Before the first flash.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Took great delight in speaking my mind on the Autoglass customer service survey. The very helpful tech that replaced the screen after the month long wait said that I'd get one and it would be split into a section about his work on the day and the back office/call centre side. And it was. So I let rip about all the shoddy rubbish they'd put me through. I feel so much better for doing that!

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
I never knew BMW indicators could flash assumed they were just for decoration.
I know Audi indicators do flash on the odd occasion but has anyone else noticed how tiny the rear indicators are getting on VAG cars (and not very bright either).
