Re: Vintage film cameras
Missed this earlier. Maybe, if I use Peak Imaging they're just down in Sheffield and I'm in no rush. Am itching to get on with a few things but they're not the priorities!

I know what you mean. Just make sure your Dad is ok.
This came with the Ikonta. In full working order, its a proper weighty beast:

Re: Vintage film cameras
I spent a few hours with the x700 this afternoon. I managed to ease up the pcb and replace the top capacitor. Annoyingly, a couple of the many tiny, short wires between the body and top cover broke off so I had to resolder them, which took me longer!
Bad news .... it still doesn't work. Will look again another day to check the soldering didn't come loose when I put it all back together. By the way, there's a bit missing ... little square black button that goes under the top cover, which releases the mode/shutter dial. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
That's a pity. Will have a look on my desk of many things and see if I can spot it.
Car boot again tomorrow.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Unsuccessful day all round I'm afraid. One of your screws was perfect for the 35 RC so I re-attached the battery wire and put the compartment back in but there's still no response from the light meter.
Don't think I can be bothered taking it further apart so it's just a manual 'sunny 16' camera, which I already have a few of. Will probably stick it on ebay toget funds for something else. |

Well if you do decide to move it on I may be interested as always. Supposed to be sunny and warm tomorrow so lets hope the car boot Gods are smiling.
