Out on the town to see off a mate who is leaving work (to get a proper job) made me smile tonight, thinking of all the good times (and the bad) but mainly just seeing folk make an effort to say goodbye to a workmate.

Its my smile for today too, through stupidity I'm sitting all on my lonesome but it will still be epic, its always nice to meet new people.

Smile for last night was meeting Tiger55 and Mrs Tiger55. Completely unplanned and very nice it was

It was my lads 11th birthday at the weekend. We bought him a telescope cos he's been fascinated by the stars for ages. Unfortunately, it's been cloudy until tonight and he's been getting upset at not being able to use his new toy.

He's a happy lad now though, we're just in from looking at the colours on Jupiter! it's crystal clear and so much detail, I'm astonished considering what we paid.

It's an amazing bit of kit, and I'll be able to connect my camera to it when I've bought the relevant part.

Please go and buy the relevant parts now - I'm very keen to see what a home telescope can do.

Btw, does it have any kind of auto setup or do you need to know where to point it?
