Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
I wonder if my neighbours enjoy the sound of my lumpy old duke on fast tickover without baffles and my new open clutch cover. Still, better than waking up to his old c0ck in the small hours.

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
Any one ridden the KTM 690 duke, looks like one i might have to have a closer look at for next year along with the aprillia dorsoduro. KTM could be fun at only 148kg in weight and 65bhp single.

Nope, but my friend had one before he got his leg totally smashed by a car whilst filtering at 10mph.
He absolutely loved it |

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
My mates got a yamaha mt-03 and everything about it seems great really good fun to ride but tops out at about 95 maybe 100 at a push atleast the ktm will hit 120 and i only use my bike for run really anyway and i'm not really bothered about going faster than the sv goes i'd be to tempted and loose my license quick on a sports bike

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
I wouldn't want a bike that only just manages to get to 100. It's not often I wanna ride over 100, but it would always be nice to know you can get to + that quickly.
I like the idea of litre bikes and their crazy speed apart from the fact the gearing is so stupid as a lot of them will now do 100mph+ in first gear. You could never push the thing ever and that would **** me orf. I hear what you're saying with regards to losing your license. I'm one ticket away from it now and I have an SV and a corsa diesel lol. |

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
yeah i went for a ride with my mate and he must of been pretty close to the red line in top gear for a fair bit of the ride, i want that little bit extra for overtakes and such, round some twisty roads i reckon the ktm would be more than a match for any bike,

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
I rode the 690 duke as a loan bike when the SMT went in for it's first service...I didn't like it at all but I did only ride it a little (to and from work). It seemed slow to pick up revs on the low end and very quick at the high end but then I had just gotten of the SMT...the single cylinder duke was very much an all or nothing bike it seems, I guess that's to be expected though and something to just get used to....
I'd be more tempted with the 690 Enduro R or SMC if I wanted an LC4 based KTM......try them all! +1 on the max 100mph thing, I rarely go beyond 100 on the SMT, with a naked or an upright bike I think you get more of a thrill at the lower speeds and with it the satisfaction you want It's the go/stop/left/right stuff that matters I reckon and not the top end! I looooove my bike for overtakes and ripping it out of the corners
