Re: Vintage film cameras
Sometimes digital is easier but not as enjoyable. I tend to go snap happy when I do use digital.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I woke up early this morning and went out for a wander with these 3 amigos.
Beautiful early morning sun for a couple of hours and then the rain came. I was visiting relatives all day. Took a couple of cameras but it was too dark inside to use them. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Not heard of the Vivitar before. Is it any good? I can always send you a flash to use. The X500 looks like a cross between the 300 and the 700.

Re: Vintage film cameras
The Vivitar is meant to be a clone of the Himatic Sii but I'll never be able to find or afford one of those. Shutter priority auto - no manual option supposedly but there must be something workable around all the GN based settings. Easy to use, quiet shutter - but a long press. The rangefinder spot isn't bright and the focus movement is minimal, less than a quarter of a turn. I find it hard to focus but that's probably my bad eyes. I love the Fujica; bright viewfinder, stop down metering and mechanical shutter. It feels like a camera.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Just checked ebay and they don't come up often. There are a couple there at nearly £100.

Re: Vintage film cameras
They are fairly rare. I lost out on a couple before I managed to get one. It's a fast 1.7 lens. Will see what the photos come out like. It terms of usability, I prefer the Ricoh - and it's got a metered manual option ... but the lens isn't as good. Ah well! Can't have everything.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I thought they might be. Anyone fancy the EM body? I have been keeping an eye on prices and saw a Trip 35 go for £51 today. My Envoy keeps climbing 192159790451

Re: Vintage film cameras
Conversely, I put a £1 bid on a Fujinon 55mm f1.8, went out all day and forgot about it. It sold for £1.20. Gutted.
I'll pass on the EM I think. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
I bid on a Lomography lc-a but went into an area with no signal. Outbid by £1.
