Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Took the SV off the Abba stand today to squeeze in a quick half hour ride (mostly to get fuel) and got back to put it away and can't work out how Abba stand fitted. I'm guessing the adaptor in the right hand side arm might have remained in the bike when I took it off and then fell out somewhere on the quick ride. There's no way that side will fit in the bike without somehting in there and I can't remember what it looked like. No sign of it nearby or in the garage so looks like I'll have to buy a replacement adaptor kit. Only about the third time I've used the stand too. Damn!

Yeah there should be an adaptor for each side

Actually, if you're not in a rush I might still have my SV adaptors somewhere

Quite a common thing to happen, either stick it in place with grease, or buy some of them little round crank/pedal magnets on ebay, super strong which will keep the adapter in place.
or buy the swingarm removal adapter kit, which bolts to one of the footrest points, then you'll never loose the adapter

Going to look at a car that "has no issues at all" to get there and find it has air bag light on and vsa light on. 1 hour drive each way!

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
I went to a very swanky black tie dinner last night. After the dinner I was staying in the same hotel as a couple of cricketer mates so we hit the bar (I wasn't on the booze though). I decided that I'd head to bed at the same time as my mate's mum, that'd give me a good excuse not to be up too late as I had to be up early for work.
I hadn't banked on her being the Keith Richards of cricketing mothers. At nearly 3am I admitted defeat and headed to bed. What has become of me that I can't manage to stay up later than my mate's mum. Felt rubbish and tired all day despite a decent fry up this morning too.

Thanks for the offer. Amazingly though I drove off to take the kids swimming this evening still in a grump about it and took the same road out that I rode earlier. I'd looked before just in case, but this time the sunset was at just the right angle to glint on the metal piece at the side of the road half way there! Couldn't believe my luck! A bit battered and scratched from being driven over I guess but found it and it still works fine! |

Yes, a grub screw would solve this. I only thought of the magnet idea last night, but I've got one spare so I'm going to try it out.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?
Adam Ef, I did just this, I never found mine but was able to knock something up at work.
My simple bodge which so far works fine, I used electrical tape to hold it in the cups of the stand. Simply put the adaptor in and wrapped over the join.
