Re: New Avon Storm Ultra's
This has probably been discussed before(unless I'm getting a bit of de ja vu) but have they put softer rubber on the sides now for the storm 2? I knew obviously they'd hardened the centre but I thought that was it. I could never get my original storms to snot up, even on the hottest days. In the mildly temperatured, misty wet/damp yesterday they've shined up great, loads of bits of rubber and unbelievably sticky to the touch.

Re: New Avon Storm Ultra's
I wouldn't be surprised if one of the other lads took it out for a spin yesterday whilst I was on the bog! It is a sexy bike..

Re: New Avon Storm Ultra's
recon you need a letter going off to the manufacturer there mate, still it was nearly worn out, but that should never happen on the unused part of the tyre.

Re: New Avon Storm Ultra's
Must have gone over something to have made a hole in the first place, as theres plenty of tread surrounding it.
A very strange occurrence. i'm sure if it was a common defect someone on here would have found out by now!

Re: New Avon Storm Ultra's
Never seen it before, I reckon a very odd defect or mechanical damage. Certainly nothing to do with wear.

Re: New Avon Storm Ultra's
i'll be picking up a new one 2morra for the AR so we shall see what its like back to back with a MK1. the mileage has been a bit disappointing with the MK1 to be honest just shy of 4000 miles and its mostly the centre that has worn.
