Good reviews there. I'll keep an eye on that lens too. Plenty of time to go yet though.
I had a look at the X700 bundle Kenzie. Could be an easy fix but then again .... A bit too much of a risk for me at the asking price for the lot.

Yoko I had a look at the light meter but it's banjoed. It takes a PX625 but with a newish LR44 it wouldn't respond on the battery check at all, or the meter ranges. The PX625 that was in it is also toast - would be worth more then the meter! 80mV isn't going to make anyone's day though. Have you got a smartphone? There is pocket light meter for iphone which is very good, there is bound to be an Android equivalent by now, though not all phones will work - the app needs access to the light meter in the phone, but in some like my old Galaxy Ace (cheapo), the camera can auto expose but apps can't access the light meter. God knows why they can't work it out from the picture but that's how it is.

You can get px625 replacement but the voltage will be off.

If it's a goner Johnny, don't waste postage on it. I do have a meter app on the phone ('exposure' it's called) though I've never really tried it out. I've got a windows phone, which has a good camera but is limited re apps available.

I use pocket light meter to calibrate meters, I reckon it underexposes half a stop, but not always, and seems to overexpose a little if you point it through a window instead of just going outside. Good for spot metering for tricky lighting, even just to get a handle on the contrast range of a scene.

I could do with something like that Johnny, for metering I mean. I got some photos back from processing today and some from the Vivitar 35SE - shutter priority rangefinder - seem a bit overexposed. Granted it was in tricky lighting conditions - early morning, light sun, lots of contrast. I need to check the instructions to see if the camera has an exposure lock or I'll have to play with the ASA settings.

Yeah, the thing is pretty mint. £2.19+ post. Both are eBay jobs. Just needs an oddball A544 battery (which I thankfully had) and it fired right up. An FR I would have been better as the II is aperture priority only and no manual option. Listed as faulty/untested but seems to be perfect.

Excellent for the price though.

I'm pretty happy with the shots that came back today from the Ricoh 500, Vivitar and the ST705. All the cameras seem to be working fine. Helios is pretty sharp and the £5 Tamron from WYC is fine, particularly in the macro.
