Re: The running thread!
I'm amazed, 48 hours after doing 20 miles and being basically knackered I popped out for my scheduled 8 mile run tonight and was bouncing with energy. Amazing how one can recover so quickly.

Re: The running thread!
I had a look for my running gear/sports bag this morning. Can't find it. I think that may have been just as well.

Re: The running thread!
Bouncing - I vaguely remember being that fit. It's a great feeling though eh?

On a serious note, if there is any secret then for me it would be; 1. Stay within your limits and push the boundaries gently, don't do too much too soon. 2. Always always stretch properly at the end of a run, I always have problems if I dont. If you dont know how then ask/learn. 3. Fuel properly before and after a long run. Build the necessary energy a few hours before with carbohydrate rich foods, hydrate fully with water or squash in the days leading up to a run, and eat protein rich food immeadiately after a long run (Tuna works well for me) and of course Flapjack |
