I've got one of those, lent it to a friend at least a year ago, wonder if he finished using it yet! Mine looked like it had been exhumed form the scene of Alien though, but was all fine. They certainly are heavy. No case for mine, and the tripod socket being off to one side means you'd need the right case to fit. The little strap studs on the front are useless as well.

Mine came with a case thankfully. Managed to finish the film in the VF135 (great camera by the way, if you see one then get it!) and the Lomo La Sardina. Did you play with the Perkeo in the end?

Yep got the Perkeo in bits now. Someone's been in there already so it's pretty clean, the escapement was sticking on the slow speeds (when it's using the pallet, which wasn't free enough) so I've cleaned it a bit more and the oil is soaking into the pivots overnight - it runs fine when wet, and a load of black bits came out. All the glass etc. is good, nothing to do there but give it a wipe of as it goes back together. The shutter ring (I think) seems to be sticking though, there is a nasty sliding feeling as it operates, and without the escapement it can hang open when you let it fire slowly. There's a lever by the self timer that looked bent, I straightened it a little but not sure it's made any odds, though you could see silver particles where it had been rubbing on the self timer, so shouldn't hurt. I think it can get bent (so to speak) if the shutter is forced when jammed, but it was bent a long way out. I'd cleaned the shutter leaves but think I need to go in there again and take another look at the shutter ring. It should snap back and forth so will investigate another day.

Yes they are, got colour film in the Agfamatic. I can't remember if I did anything with the Perkeo to be honest. Hope you can revive it.

It works but when I was first trying it out, it was a bit hit or miss if it would hang open sometimes. Hopefully won' be too hard to find the cause, I've narrowed it down anyway.

Johnny, are the shutter and aperture ring supposed to be locked together on the Vitomatic? Struggling to wrap my head around its operation. I can see that the ring needs to he turned to match the meter needle, and I guess you then turn the other ring to suit either aperture for dof or shutter speed as they are matched to give proper exposure?

Yep that's right. You can of course just ignore it and set it manually as well.
