Re: Vintage film cameras
That looks an interesting place. Nice defensive position.
I've got a bid in on a Rikenon 50mm f2. Reputedly a very sharp lens. Still in single figures but a day to go yet. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Just checked my KR-5 but it only has an f2.8 Riconar on it. Nothing fancy, butat least its a PK fit. Got a bid in on a Konica S II, fingers crossed.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Got my pix back from the folding Contessa. All looks good, frame spacing is a bit variable (the frame counter was also missing a few) so some of the prints are randomly cropped, need to be scanned again. Will post a few.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Not yet. It won't fire, which is weird. The LEDs are fine and the shutter mechanics are good. (it works if I take the bottom plate off and touch the release) The bottom capacitor looks OK and there's no corrosion. But it's something electrical somewhere causing the problem.
I gave up on the Rikenon when bids reached double figures. The Yashica minister arrived too. It's in good condition and the selenium meter is workind. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Maybe it has something to do with the battery chamber. It worked ok here so I am confused.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Yeah, me too, unless Royal Mail gave it a good shake up. I looked at the battery chamber and the wiring underneath is ok. One thought I did have, when you tested it, did you use a battery cover from your other XG?
I'm using an X series one. It looks the same in the manual but I'm wondering if it's slightly different. |
