Cool. Another for the shooting list! What was wrong with the iso dial?

ISO dial was all furred up inside basically and wouldn't move. Oxidisation of a metal ring in there I think. Also, a tab that goes through all the bits to align them had broken off, which made it a nightmare to put back together properly.
Anyway, good that it's working now and joining the queue for a film test.

On a different subject, plenty of heritage railways up this way if you like that sort of thing. At least 4 within an hour of York plus the wonderful Settle-Carlisle.

Strange that, the shutter release was furred up as well. That was the easy bit to fix. I quite like my xg-m. Will take my short tamron on holiday I think. I try to stick to a no violence approach to cameras, if it doesn't move but should then don't force it!

So, some good news/bad news with the Perkeo. I just need to collimate it and it's done, and there's nothing wrong with the double exposure lock. I found a couple of loose screws in the struts/shutter release linkage which weren't helping. Bad news is there is a spring missing from the struts, and it's a problem.

Hard to see but near the hinge of the main door there is a single screw top and bottom which are mounts for the springs that pop the door open. The top one has lost said spring. This means that the door won't stay fully open without being held, which means the front standard (plate that holds the lens/shutter) won't be parallel to the film plane unless you hold it fully open yourself. Also if it sags closed a bit, there is a tendency for the shutter release linkage to stick enough to prevent the shutter from closing sometimes. This is really the one blot, maybe you can figure out how to get another spring in there, I don't know, or just hold it open against the stops when you are shooting. I'll collimate it tomorrow and get it off to you.

I think this may have been missing anyway. I remember having to pull the door down when first opening it. No idea what sort of spring to use, will check the Bessa or another folder.

It's a coiled one, you'll be able to see from the bottom pin. Anything that will push the door open will do, or maybe fashion something to jam into the hinge when it's open to keep it rigid. TBH if it's a pain you'll get good money for it, the name is a magnet on ebay.

Good spot. Will keep an eye on it. I have a Bessa 66 that I might be able to salvage a spring off. They have a very similar body design. If the spring was missing previously then I didn't notice and the shots came out ok. Got a 10k run to do today.

Nice collection, I quite like the look of the Instamatic 300. I also have a Fuji Instax Mini 10, bought it as I wanted to try instant film but not shell out £18 for eight shots of Impossible SX70 film.
