Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Due to my accident my insurance cost has tripled, I've tried calling around and searching online, but most companies won't even touch me now, and the ones that will are offering me a premium at least three times dearer than what I paid last year. Had a good chat with my current insurers renewals department and they've agreed with the underwriter to give me a policy for pretty much what I paid last year despite initially quoting me three times as much, they've decided that although my accident category makes me a high risk, the circumstances do not make me a higher risk - a victory for common sense! One less thing to worry about now

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
The old insurance companies will squeeze your pips dry given half a chance, had my quote for the car by post, rang them up to ask why such a large increase from last year (haven't made a claim or anything),asked me to wait a moment then came back with a new price £80 less, you've got to be on your toes with these modern day **** Turpins, and yes I did it on line last year and still got a paper reminder!!!

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Most insurance companies definitely aren't working for our benefit, however I did at least get my renewal by email (although I expect one to come in the post soon too) and I got my documents via email while I was still on the phone to them, nice and easy as I always know where my documents will be.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
I had a phone call from my insurance company last year to quote me on the renewal.
After the quote I said can you phone me next week after I've checked online and suddenly the price dropped nearly £200. Could probably get cheaper than they quoted but I have a low tolerance for answering the same questions over and over again trying to get a better deal. |

I've just renewed my van insurance, renewal came through about £50 more than last year. Not made any claims etc. quick check on comparison sites got it down from £498 to £284!

Managed to get £700 added to the pre accident value of my bike, things are starting to come together again

My smile today.
I am reading Stardust by Neil Gaiman and it is lovely. There is nothing like the pleasure of a great book. |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Two gentle runs this week of about 2½ miles each, over the hill behind us and no recurrence of the ligament problem in my ankle so far. Mabel is well enough to run with me now as well. Double smile of the day!
