must be 20 odd years since i have been through cheddar.

bike looks lovely

define 'chatter'.

dont go to mad with rebound or you will 'pack down' e.g. every time you go over subsequent bumps it will eat away at the stroke especially while braking. you need the rebound to recover just quick enough but not 'pop' when you let go of the brakes. to much rebound gives a very harsh ride.

I love Cheddar, back in my twenties, I used to climb here in the winter when the gorge was open to climbers.

Sadly we parked with out realising it, next to where a man from the South East killed himself following a dispute with the DWP. He had been sanctioned and then told that he owed money due to a benefit over payment. Due to his poor health and old age he had not worked for many years and so decided to end his own life. It was terribly sad and he did it in a truly horrific way by setting his car on fire. You cannot help but feel sorry not only for him, but for the rescuers who tried to save him.

At the moment it feels like the fork is extending too quickly following a compressive force, the release of energy held in the springs is not being slowed down enough by the damper. There is no packing down at all, however I also think that my pre-load is too high, so need to examine both when I am able to get back in the garage.

However it is cold, raining and I have The Screwtape Letters on my e-reader.

Yes. Just do a search of org using matt yokes, then you'll understand. Now known as Machine, but i haven't seen him post for a while.

To be fair, his products are very good.

Well Mav,I know what your saying, but EVENTUALLY I got all the bits and the quality was second to none, and it makes an incredible difference to the overall rideability of the bike.Maybe best as a winter project unless you get sorted quickly, but overall no complaints with the product at all!!!

Matt is a plonker of the first order

but his products are superb and i have no hesitation in recommending them.

give him a phone and you might... just might get a discount if you say your a member of the org.

Early in this thread, I made a horrible mistake with a set of custom made throttle cables my Mate Steve made for me and I cut down the outer sheaf because I could not fit them properly. It took me a while to figure out what I had done wrong and eventually I fixed the problem and edited the thread to own up to my mistake.

Matt came forward and offered his help, he was waiting for an order of new cables and was prepared to let me have a set for a very reasonable price. In the end I did not need them, but Matt stood by his offer. In later years Matt and I disagreed over some things and we did not continue our conversation. You know how it is with the net though, you can argue until you are blue in the face over some pedantic point.

I have not used Matt's products, I have though used products created by Bibio who is a complete and total genius, therefore I trust his judgement.
