Good on ya for checking John. I was very grateful when a biker in a van helped me push my SV up a hill when my fuel gauge failed to register a low level, and often slow up and make enquiring hand gestures if I see a bike stopped in a layby.

Summer has finally arrived here in Buckinghamshire too. Of course I've been suffering with a migraine all day and not up to going out on the bike, but that just sums up my riding year so far... Hope the rest of you are out enjoying the day.

Exactly, we've all been there stranded by the road or in my case dropped my bike and struggled to pick it up.

I have days like that. Not so much a headache more like brain fog. Feels like I've been up 24hrs without any sleep.

It's hazy but bright here. Overnight yesterday we had a rain shower which dumped a load of orange dust onto cars, quite amusing seeing everyone driving around looking like they'd dipped their cars into a bag of Wotsits

Still blazing sunshine here. 25 degrees forecast for this afternoon at Loch Rannoch! I'm about to head out on the bike and try to swim to the little castle in the middle of the loch

That's what my car looked like yesterday. I should have licked it to see what flavour of wotsit. Meantime hazy sunshine here and 25°

We had quite thick fog until about noon, then the Sun made an appearance although the coast road was very hazy in places. Once you turned inland you got the Sun back. I can still hear the ship's fog horns on the river.

Still 30-odd degrees here today. It was a couple less when I set off to take Hugh for his annual fettling at Spannerman's but it was hotter than hell waiting for the first train homewards at Sunbury. Took over four hours to get back via a very slow non-air conditioned South West train (packed), an equally sweaty Bakerloo Line service, but then a thankfully AC-working Chiltern train. But the signalling issues at Ruislip meant a 24 minute service was nearly doubled... I hate trains when it's this hot!

Have now showered and changed and have a beer in my hand. Hope it's cooler when I go get Hugh back next Friday!!

Hit a high of 36° today. It's still 28° at 8pm.

Yeah that's way too hot! Nothing worse than trying to sleep when it's that hot
