Wet Sunday afternoon so dug this old tape player out of the loft. Not the best sound but good to listen to some old mix tapes

Mix tapes... that takes me back. We still have a tape deck in the elderly Sony mini hifi that I've hooked to the TV as a pseudo soundbar but last time we tried some of our old cassettes they sounded terrible and and least one broke. Probably degraded.

I'm surprised the player worked. I bought that when I started work, so around 1974.

Morning Orgers. Grey day here, and not that warm. A day spent at home today for me, waiting for the leccy to come and fit a smart meter.

Much the same here. I did get out on the bike yesterday and visited J&S accessories in Wolverhampton. Bought some gloves to combat the dropping temps. Housework today I think.

Its a sad day for me! Car failed its MOT big time! After 20 yrs its time has come to an end. Spent the day syphoning off the full tank of fuel ready for its big trip into the sky. (Or the scrap yard)

That unfortunate. More expense looking for a replacement. I hate shopping for cars, such a minefield.

Quite agree John - if I was after a new bike there would be an element of enthusiasm, but a car no way!

Drove out to Cambridge this morning to visit their Photography Show. I've previously been to the national Show at the NEC but I had enough sense to realise it would not be as flash (no pun intended). Held at the Hilton in the centre of town I was expecting to be pointed towards a ballroom or similar large conference room but no... It was in their meeting room area and comprised a few tables and small display stands. OM Systems had a good range on their table, as did Canon and Sigma, but the rest was a poor selection of used kit, pin badges for some reason, and a guy trying hard to get everyone to join RSPB. There a whole series of talks if you wanted to sit and listen but I was back on the park & ride bus within 30 minutes and home again by lunchtime.
