Ffs if you can only enjoy life through a 4" screen you're one sad ba5tard!
Public Service Broadcasting solved that at their gigs, I've never seen people video stuff afterwards.

That is brilliant.

The woman standing in front of me with a large umbrella up trying to take photos of the Battersea Park fireworks on an ipad got my full wrath a couple of years ago. If you are going to a display and rain is forecast, wear a waterproof coat and leave the brolly at home. As for thinking that anyone will ever want to see her blurry images of the fireworks, get real, they will be terrible.

I do use my phone for photos, often my 'Photo a day' pics are taken on my S5 as there's no way I'm lugging a Canon 5Diii and 70-200 about all day when pedalo-ing on the Serpentine or climbing the O2. They have their place - but a sister's wedding or a concert are not such places.

I think most photographers have more than one type of camera. I have my phone camera an Ixus220 and the 700d. The ixus takes great photos and takes up little space when touring on the bike. And sometimes when going to an event it's best to leave the cameras at home. Enjoy the occasion with your eyes and not through a lens.

I have slightly more than one camera! Can't beat a compact over a phone camera. And why people don't turn off the flash at long range!!!

Because they never read the instructions. Most don't set the metering correctly or the white balance either. They just wave the camera phone about like idiots.

I bought Chris a compact camera but I don't think he ever uses it.

I can understand people holding up phones, but when they do it with tablets or iPads they just look ridiculous.

Some phones these days are so huge they are about 4 times the size of an SLR.
