Re: The All New Megathread
I now have a flu vaccine voucher, courtesy of work. Will see if I can get an appointment for next weekend.

Re: The All New Megathread
Morning all. Very wet here, pouring with rain. I'm going to have to put the waterproofs on and take Mabel for a walk, and then get out and harvest the next load of my runner beans for the freezer. Aside from that it'll be a day spent doing indoor jobs I think.
I'll nip outside and fit the new battery to the bike at some point, as the bike is in the dry under the overhang of the bungalow, which is where it will stay until it dries up a bit! |

Still very mild though Mike. I still have tomatoes and cucumbers ripening on plants in the front garden. Not normal for this time of the year at all.

Re: The All New Megathread
Yes you are right, bit weird weather at the moment. We had three days completely 'off grid' due to sunshine last weekend and also had a lot spare yesterday, but today will get zilch. We were out in t-shirst only Wednesday evening.

Re: The All New Megathread
What a difference 24 hours can bring. Fabulous walk in lovely still, mild weather yesterday around Mitchels Fold and today it was dodging the showers as we did a bit of shopping in Shrewsbury. Now holed up in Hawkstone Park for the night before heading to nephew's wedding tomorrow.

Re: The All New Megathread
After days of rain Saturday finally looked ok for a bike ride if a little on the cool side. Set off in sunshine and before I could leave my village it started spitting. Then two miles down the road on the A5 it pelted down. Whilst I looked further up the road I could see that the tarmac was white, it was a full on localised hail storm, which I soon entered. I can confirm that hail stings when it hits your hands. The rest of the ride was less exciting, just a mixture of wet and dry roads. The bike needs a good clean now though.

Re: The All New Megathread
I hate it when that happens. The person who invents a transparent coating product for bikes that muck and dirt just slides off with spray from a hose would make a mint.
The nearest I've found is FS365, if you spray the bike over and leave it 5 mins before washing, all the muck just floats off with just the lightest wipe of the sponge. I know a lot of people don't rate FS365 but if used as intended (i.e. after every wet/salty ride), I've found it to be very effective. |

Re: The All New Megathread
I think I've got some of that in the garage. I'll need to get the ACF50 out too
