Re: The All New Megathread
On my old 70s two-strokes I used to paint ACF onto all the chrome and just leave it until spring, letting all the salty crud from winter rides accumulate and washing it all off in one go. The bike looked horrible but the ACF did its job, all the chrome came back shiny and unblemished.
These days I don't like my bike to look filthy so I only use the ACF in vulnerable areas and on things like shiny bolt heads and clips etc, the rest gets FS365 after every damp / salty ride, rinsed off with cold water, towel dry then a final spray over with FS365 before it goes in the garage. The good thing about the FS is that it takes literally seconds to mist over the bike. |

Re: The All New Megathread
Morning orgers. Decidedly colder out there today, with the wind having swung around to the East. Still warm enough in the bwnglo not to need the heating on though.

Re: The All New Megathread
40+ mph winds here in East Cheshire, leaves, twigs and small branches being blown down everywhere, even though it's bright and relatively mild.

Re: The All New Megathread
Swapped summer for winter duvets yesterday. Our heating kicked in for the past two mornings. The heating is on all year but the thermostat is set low so never triggers unless it gets really cold.

Re: The All New Megathread
Greetings from Norfolk. My brother landed at Heathrow this morning so I was at T3 Arrivals for 7am... I drove us up to the old homestead as he's staying with our parents for a week but I persuaded them all to gor a stroll on the beach after lunch so we headed for Hemsby. Very mild but quite blowy with a very angry looking North Sea eroding yet more of the coast line. Looks like I'm in for a stormy drive home tomorrow too.

Re: The All New Megathread
Morning all. Another wet day, so no possibility of getting out on the bike to try it out after putting the last couple of bits back together.
Going to have to put full waterproofs on soon and get out for a walk with Mabel. |

Re: The All New Megathread
Hi Gary - yep, I can barely see the hills here, which means it's raining.
(South Manchester weather forecasting works like this: if you can't see the hills, it's raining; if you CAN see the hills, it's going to rain soon) |

The rain has been pounding down all night, still going now.
