Was funny as hell winding him up over the sofa picture
Thought he was going to lose it for a while though!

Not with the two grandads he's got. He's had years of experience and isn't shy to tell people they are wrong.
The poor little man's got chichen pox (pops) at the mement . He's covered in very large spots but he's being amazing and has hardly scratched them at all.

Poor wee man, has Emily had Chicken Pox yet?

Both mine have had it and they didn't get it too bad.

I've never had it.

Hope he's better soon and give him our best wishes

Em hasn't had it yet but the two of us have, plus all the close family, so we should be ok. We did work out that he was infectious last week though so you and Rob will have to keep an eye out!

Hey guys.

Im writing this here cos I dont really have anyone else to talk to about it, no one that will understand anyway.
You see the thing is that after what happened to Reeder I just cant seem to get on my bike. Well, thats not strictly true - I rode it over to Addenbrookes and had a dreadful ride. I was looking at every tree, every lamppost, every car and basically was a nervous wreck and rode like cr@p, by the time I got home I was in tears. My previous ride to that, at the start of March also ended badly because I had problems with my head and had to dump the bike 70 miles away and get a lift back. Id been making stupid, dangerous mistakes and just knew I couldnt ride back safely. It was down to health I know but its still knocked my confidence, if id been on my own i dont know what i would have done.

The upshot is that my confidence has gone completely and with it my desire to ride, although I know I dont really want to give it up. Ive got my Triumoh back, spent a load on it getting it exactly how I want it, I just dont seem to want to ride it. So I dont know where to go from here. Should I just get on the bike and ride it, should I just take a step back and forget it for a while, what should I do? I honestly dont know. I cant talk to my family, if I tell them about Reeder theyll just tell me I shouldnt be riding, and Jeff just doesnt get it at all. His response was "well its dangerous walking across the road". Not very helpful.

Ive booked IAM and will be due to start probably in about 3 weeks in the hope that going out with an experienced rider will help but dont know whether to try and get out beforehand or not.

I dont really know what im saying or asking. I just want to ride and be a good rider but it all seems to have fallen apart and I dont know how to get it back. If I got on the bike now id be feeling so stressed it would be a disaster. I dont want to be going everywhere with my knee down. I just want to be able to keep up with other (sensible) riders, safely.

What do you guys think I should do, I really do value your honest opinions.

Sorry to hear that KJ, I had a couple of nervous rides and still think twice where I didn't before Reeder's accident, but it's not affected me as severely as it has you.

If I were you and you really feel dreadful / nervous riding then I wouldn't ride, wait it out for a little bit and don't make any rash decisions. I would contemplate cancelling the IAM and getting any money back if you can too, and rebooking when you are good and ready.

I know there will be other opinions around this i.e. ride through it etc but I really do think if you are riding repeatedly and still not feeling good about it then that feeling will only distract you when you need to be focused. Have a week or two off then give it another go, once the weather has improved again

Yep have a couple of weeks off until the weathers nice.

You've always suffered this lack of confidence from time to time, and Reeder's accident has knocked it for six.

Not only that, but you've got your kids to think of, although its the one thing that stops me doing stupid things.

Having driven past the site twice, I can only think how unlucky he was, so bear that in mind.

Most of all I think he wouldn't want anyone giving up, he was enjoying himself in the sunshine, doing what he wanted to do, it was just so tragic what happened

Just take some time
