Actually, under certain circumstance, you do have a right to light.

Nowt wrong with conifers, if they're properly maintained.

There are laws about the height of fences and other constructions - just make trees subject to the same. Done. Too simple?

A properly maintained conifer is one that is set fire to on a regular basis, they do burn surprisingly well . Basically conifer forests are dead zones the fallen needles and lack of light stop anything growing under them and the shallow roots suck up all the water from the surface - a single oak tree can supply the same amount of food and habitat than an acre of conifers. Red squirrel survive in conifer forests because that is all that is left for them because grey squirrels need too much food to be able to exist in conifer woodlands - if we got rid the tree rats the reds would be only too happy to move back into native tree areas.

I hate also conifers because they are the favoured nest sites of wood pigeons in our area.

I would love to cut them down but apparently you do not have ' a right to light ' or to satellite / terrestrial signals in England ( don't know about Scotland )
