There is no meter. Our outside stop tap is in our neighbours garden and was buried, so I unburied it and turned that off. However our other neighbour is on a shared supply with us. Either that tap is broken as well or water was backfeeding from somewhere because after trying to drain the pipes, after well over 100L I gave up and resolved to get wet while fitting another stop tap inline with the old one.

The whole street has a water supply arrangement best described as "comedy".

Trying to figure out if I've got to pay tax on my pension contributions/savings, just going round & round in circles on various Gov websites.

Don't think its helped by not having a pension statement for the year ending March 2015 when the rules changed.

Its all mumbo jumbo.

Phone them, it's so much easier.

Normally you get 20% rebate paid back automatically but have to claim the extra if youre a higher rate tax payer.

I have the same conversation every year with them

I'd guess no maviczap, but this year's calculations are a complete pita... To get a Pension increase tax charge you need to have breached in this year by a huge amount to not have enough carryover from previous years to balance it off. For the 3,500 people we check I'd say we get maybe 20/25 breaches.

M11 this morning at 0630 - I went past one, yes one car which had its fog lights on, seeing as there was probably 50-100m visibility at the time it would have been more comforting to see a few more.
Ironically, once I got onto the North Circular there were a lot more cars using their fogs, but the visibility was much improved to the point of almost not needing them!

This, taken out of the offside front of my Focus this morning by the guys at Kwik Fit.

The macro closeup does not help you know it is a one inch self-tapper that had only just penetrated the tread layer.

Shows the importance of checking your pressures regularly - I noticed a decrease when I did my normal Sunday morning lookround and when I felt round the tyre sure enough there it was. Luckily (ish) I was down to just over 2mm on the fronts so decided to just replace them. One of the two Kwik Fits in Wycombe had the Michelins I wanted on the shelf so off I went.

!!WARNING!! Kwik Fit and doubtless other fasfit places know you may be desperate and/or in a fix in situations like this and their walk-in price for the same tyre was £40 quid more, each! The four wheel alignment was also violently expensive. Whenever you can use a pre-book or pay online option with these guys.

Now if you'll excuse me I think my wallet needs to go for a lie down in a dark quiet room...

I got a new fan belt fitted to the car on Friday and the new one is now squeaking even more than the old one! My neighbours are gonna hate me. I was already the d**k with the loud bike, now I'm also the d**k with the PoS squeaky car

Are you sure it's the car and not your knee joints?

American politics.
Each day we sink to an embarrassingly new low.
Both candidates are carp.
The Russians are trying to influence the elections.
The FBI is trying to influence the elections.

Everyday i hear people i thought were normal now speaking as if they were Nazi's, consumed with hate.
Nationalism could easily get out of control here.
There is a real threat that the elections may throw the entire country into violence and civil unrest.

Because i do not discuss politics at work was taken aside by the boss today and asked what party
I would be supporting in the elections.
He wanted to "make sure I was on the right side".

I had to lie. I need the job worse than I need to be right.
I wonder to myself if that's how it started in Germany.
