Re: The All New Megathread
thanks John!
Some good news is that my bike's battery is still in decent health after 6 weeks of non-use and it's on the Optimiser now, and luckily my last ride (end of October) was salt-free so no signs of corrosion anywhere #priorities |

Re: The All New Megathread
Talking of batteries, we have a planned power cut today. The house battery is happily running things including the heating. A bit of solar power on a sunny day helps as well.

Re: The All New Megathread
Morning orgers. Yet more rain. I'd best get started on that big boat building project....
First I'm going to don the waterproofs and get out for a walk with Mabel. |

Morning Gary. Taking advantage of a weather window here for a quick walk before the rains come.

Re: The All New Megathread
I'm off to a Christmas lunch today. Meeting up with my ex BT colleagues. I'm only going for the meal and skipping the pub crawl.

Re: The All New Megathread
Enjoy john. I still go to a lunch with ex-colleagues from 20 years ago but never have a drink as it is in Manchester and I have to drive. They are a good crowd and regard my time there as the 'best job ever'

Re: The All New Megathread
I would have done the opposite! Actually on Wednesday I met up with my ex BT colleagues at a Weatherspoons and we drank a few gallons of coffee/tea between us (managed a couple of pints as well). The days of managing to get to the Bus stop, climbing aboard and then falling asleep, hoping to stir before the disembark stop seems long over. On reflection the meal seems a good option.

Re: The All New Megathread
I would normally go on the pub crawl but I can't leave my wife too long on her own. I'm not overly bothered though, saves having a bad head tomorrow lol.

Re: The All New Megathread
And its good for the bank balance too! like you say no headache as well! Hope you enjoyed yourself and can understand your situation, we are on the back foot here at the moment, after ten years of the wife managing her arthritic knee its packed up big time , its pitiful watching her try and move around, she needs a knee replacement but actually getting a referral to see a consultant is the first high hurdle to get over and that is problematic in itself.
Surviving into old age and staying healthy is near priceless. |

Re: The All New Megathread
As I'm recovering from a bug I cried off the drinks and meal out last night after our annual face to face staff meeting. We were saying goodbye to our operations finance manager too who is off to a new job but I knew I'd fall asleep by the time poppadoms came out... Turns out I dodged a bullet as at least two of my colleagues admitted to having Delhi Belly today
