I wouldn't steal the cake, it'll only mess up the inside of your frock. Go for the silver instead.

I'm taking a fellow orger as my +1. Invited along for services to cricket, which is nice. Guess I've been doing that for 20 years now. God I'm old!

You must have a full silver service by now then.

Hallelujah - I have a new contract. My last one finished at Christmas so it's been 15 weeks now and I have been SO BORED!!!!!! There are only so many professional development videos you can watch on YouTube before you start to go a bit mental and when you're not earning you really don't want to be burning fuel for fun.

This one is a nine month assignment and is the first long term role I've had since my last one finished a year ago. Let's hope it all goes well on Monday when I start.

Time for some of that Jamesons Crested I've been saving.

Thanks all. Surprisingly clear headed today so the Crested is clearly nice stuff.

The uncertainty of contracting has always put me off. I must be pretty risk adverse having been with the same company under many guises for the past 33 years. Now I would doubt anyone would want an old codger like me anyway.

But congratulations on picking up a new one.
