Hey fellow EAR organs. How are we all doing?
I've not been around for ages, and here's my update;
The summer was fun but the new term has started and we've hit the ground running. It's been hectic, but good so far. The only not good bit is that my bike was knocked over a couple of weeks ago. It was in its usual parking space (has been the same for the last 6 years) in the school car park. A contractors van drove passed it and into the next bay. He's done what he needed to and gone back to his van. As he's reversed out he has turned and knocked my bike over on to its right side. I got a call in class to go to the office where the numpty was stood, head held low. He showed me the bike, now picked up, and all the bits that had broken off. And says... sorry, I didn't see it!!!!!!!!!!!!
H ehas admited liability and gave me all his details. Since then the bike has been collected, and a loan bike dropped off. So mine is with a firm called BLD, and their loaning me a 2010 CBF600. I'm waiting for an engineer to have a look at it and make any recomendations to the insurance company. I'm thinking it may be written off though. The right side took a battering, and the right clip-on trapped my thumb against the tank on full right lock. As the parts and spraying would cost quite a lot I think it wont happen. If the report says that there isn't any structural damage I think I'll buy it back and get to work on it. Maybe the GSXR front end? At least a good clean up and repair ready for winter. While it's off the road when the snow and ice arrive I'll get to doing more with it.
And... the Landrover is up for sale. I though the day would never come but we need a second family car. We got talking during our holiday in France and decided to look for something to make next years trip a bit more of an adventure. Last week we bough this...
It is 20 years old but very solid and has a lot of fun features such a the flat screen tv, four captains chairs, and the motorised rear bench that folds out in to a double bed . Bring on the adventures.

Sorry to hear about the trusty sv, you bored on that CBF yet?

That's a van and a half, should make for more comfy trips that's for sure!

It'll be good if we can get the old gang on bikes again and out and about, we managed a couple of rides with 2/3 people at a time but having better numbers would be nice

Gotta love American cars/vans/trucks I used to have a Mustang about 10 years ago - still miss it now

Shame about the Landy though - is the day van the 4.3 V6 to soften the blow of missing the V8?

Kai - the 600 is dull as f**k! I miss the torque of the twin, and the lovely sound, and the riding position... the list goes on. And I don't like the FI. It's really snatchy at low speeds and low revs (I'll stop there)
Skip - I remembered you had a Mustang. It is the 4.3 V6 and it runs really well. The last owner had a Powerflow exhaust fitted so it sounds great too. It will be an extreemly sad day to see the Landy driven away by someone else. I fact I think it's only been driven by three people other than me since I've owned it - my dad and the two mot testers I've taken it to, not even my wife! The V8 mud magnet will be a hard act to follow but he Chevy is a project in that it needs a cosmetic sort out. So I will make it mine.
Mav - The sv is a tough beast. Its survived contact with a van shaped numpty before and a pay out will fund the repairs and upgrades.
Two projects, that will keep me out if trouble

Well the weather forecasts for all weekend across the whole region look good, according to atleast 3 forecasts!

Are there any takers for a ride out of some description on either Saturday or Sunday? Worth putting a thread up?

Where's the truck racing Skip?
I got a call from the engineer that checked the bike over today. He's calling it a write off as the repairs estimate is £2000
All this crap to deal with and I wasn't even there when it all happened!
