Re: AR10 Chat
Could be useful when turning into a car park or petrol station to let the traffic approaching know that the group is not turning all that quickly.

Re: AR10 Chat
Oh yeah sorry I didn't mean I'd be holding the group back
It just means that when I'm in a slow moving situation (Congestion, all of us trying to get into/out of a car park, or pulled up to assist a breakdown) I can set up the beacon =p I do intend to be riding the white lines a lot or being stopped in strategic locations when the group is passing certain ...obstacles... to make sure other traffic gives us a clear run and a beacon will be handy especially as large groups of bikes tend to steal peoples attention That and when traffic sees a large bike, black leathers, white lid, reflective jacket and a beacon people tend to give you a bit more leeway when holding routes open for bikes and don't like to cut you up so much , not that I'm suggesting that I'm going to try impersonate a traffic officer just that it has it's unintended benefits *on that note I notice most of the London Police bikes are BMW's instead of the Pan Euros now? Couldn't get the exact model due to de-badging Last edited by PsychoCannon; 16-09-09 at 11:59 AM. |

I appreciate the sentiment but don't forget this bloke. You don't want to turn out like him

Re: AR10 Chat
What you all fail to realise is that it's actually a Kevlar Cardie with "skin effect" logo for humour
And GOD NO! I may be a geek but I have SOME style =p. Besides I've only just reluctantly given in and started wearing the reflective vest at night or when raining due to my last off, I doubt I'll be striping my bike florescent any time soon =p |

Re: AR10 Chat
If the two bikes I saw on Monday are representative, they're R1200RT-P. It'll have come from the 1300 pan weave affair, if I recall.
I don't think a beacon is a good idea though... Motorists don't seem to have too much of a problem with ordinary riders blocking uncontrolled exits when they see that its 20 or more bikes, if you're reasonably nice about it. |
