If you ever have a KTM and the engine keeps cutting out sporadically, first thing to check is the side stand sensor! Instead of coughing up £25 for the KTM eliminator I made one with the right 3 pin connector and a 1K ohm resistor and tested the bike out with it today...problem solved! Just need to folk out £35 for a new sensor now before I ride off with the side stand down, but not before I check the wires for breaks...

Such a relief, I was starting to wonder if it was something quite a bit more serious....normally the bike stops and doesn't work again with this issue apparently.

Surely, yours can't have been the only one to suffer with this fault?

Nope, it's fairly common although the local dealership hasn't seen a case yet. The trouble was as it was not a complete failure straightaway like all the others I've seen posted about...to start with mine seemed related to certain rev ranges...just threw me a bit.

It was nice to give it some beans with confidence again

This was just put up on the Evening News site, poor chap, happened on the A47 just outside Norwich, both at fault for obvious reasons...bit of a reminder really!

2 months since the last post in here - wow we are an active bunch lol

Cold ride in this morning - the coldest this year for sure - time for the linings in my jacket and trousers me thinks! I plan to keep commuting until the icy weather - just cant face the hassle of the car yet!

Yeah I think it's now time for thermal liners and winter gloves...I'll be holding off on the heated grips for a brucey bonus later on

Tried my Oxford inner gloves this morning - useless things just make it more cumbersome to use the controls and the tips of my fingers were just as cold as yesterday!
