I went down the off-road route for 2 years with my DRZ but found that it wasn't really for me. The local TRF group were welcoming but they were all keen off-roaders with a bit of road riding now and again when my preference was more the opposite so it was all a bit much for me as a novice. I will probably go back to it in the future but hopefully when one of my riding buddies fancies it as I was a bit out on my own... For trail riding though the TRF knows where you can go legally which is always an issue as the general public thinks you shouldn't go anywhere!
