I've turned loads of animals into roadkill with my car so I get a bit paranoid about hitting stuff in the dark on the bike, especially when we go through that wood with no fence and the deer warning signs.

I've had a deer run across my front at that bit! Scared me a lot. I do wonder what would happen if I hit one. I like to think I'd hunker down, head on tank, and blow straight through it haha. Realistically, I'd probably just die.

I have hit a deer on the SV. Hit it hard enough and right in the middle and it'll explode. All you need to do is be ready to wipe the blood and guts from your visor. It gets everywhere. I was still pulling bits out of the radiator weeks later. If you are going to hit one, aim for the middle bit.
