So, I've rented a black kilt, purchased a rather nice black lace-up shirt... Kilting it up Ninja style

Just wee bits of contrast here and there on the sporran, belt, shirt buttons etc, under the stitching, breaks it up nicely. I was swithering about getting the Black Watch tartan instead, to be just a tad less black, but bit the bullet in the end Not often I look sharp

Since demands were made, I'll put up some pics next weeek when it arrives.

This is the only one that's not rubbish, because my dad can't work technology.

Turned out I could have got away with the DMs and short socks, would probably have looked pretty good and I wouldn't have sounded like a horse

Funny you should say that. i opend the boot of my car the other day and found one of those in there. then it ocurred to me that every car boot i've ever seen has one... i didn't even know i owned one... whats that all about then.
