Re: Favourite Gun
As I see it that law actually means you can shoot ANYONE with a bow in Chester on that day.
Would be racial discrimination otherwise. Other cities with similar laws (and I am staying away from York) Hereford may suit you better Baph. Chester You can only shoot a Welsh person with a bow and arrow inside the city walls and after midnight. Hereford You can shoot a Welsh person all day, but only on Sunday, with a Longbow, in the Cathedral Close. York Upon sight of a Scotsman, it is still legal to shoot him with a bow and arrow, except on Sundays. There are other crazy English laws @ http://www.ijmc.com/archives/2000/Fe...ruary2000.html Happy Hunting Last edited by SoulKiss; 02-05-07 at 03:16 PM. |

Re: Favourite Gun
Vaguely remember some (probably urban legend) "law" that it's perfectly legal to shoot a Welshman with a traditional Sherwood longbow within the boundaries of Nottingham?

Great minds, although compounds are cheating, TD recurve is the way to go (although I will admit, it's been hung there for the last 15 years)

Re: Favourite Gun
Oh they are sooo not cheating...
... well OK, maybe just a little bit. They're easier to badly shoot reasonably well, but much harder to consitantly shoot really well. That said I have got an old longbow too - but it's a lightweight little thing as I really can't get on with the draw style. Strange - I couldn't hit the side of a barn 10 feet away if I was to throw a ball at it - but put a 'mechanical device' in my hands like a gun or bow and suddenly I'm accurate. Go figure. |
