Re: My SV650T. Advice from those who have toured on an SV?
Very enjoyable post to distract me from work. Would really really love to do this, bike looks cool being mismatched too! Adds a lot of character, especially when you're camping and everything
top job. |

The location looks so peaceful!
Quite the transformation from aggressive naked hooligan to full on touring, looks sweet with the black fairing. |

My SV650T. Advice from those who have toured on an SV?
Quote:
Nearby stones and bits of wood come in handy! I've got a centre stand on it's way, with the weight of the luggage I think it will be safer. Plus it'll fit better between scooters in London parking bays too Thanks for the comments on the colour way, close up it's pretty tatty and needs some work but as it's a daily runner I don't have time to do it. One day. My goal is to get an SV1000N and move the fairing and racks over to use as commuter/tourer then chance the 650 back to a naked fun bike. New better paid job starts next week so it might be achievable too! |

Rider seat is an OEM low.
Pillion is a OEM with a Tribal Cover to give more grip to the Mrs. ass. Last edited by Wayno; 04-08-14 at 02:52 PM. |

Re: My SV650T. Advice from those who have toured on an SV?
may i also suggest you dont bother with JOG and the A9 unless that is you 'really must go' but instead take in more of the better roads and scenery that Scotland has to offer by mainly sticking to the west coast. going up Loch Ness is another bad idea as again your missing out on some stunning scenery that further west has to offer. the north east coast is pretty boring TBH and either going up or down that A9 is soul destroying.
it's up to you what you do but you really are missing out by doing the 'tourist route'. if time is a factor then personaly you would be much better leaving the far north to another time and only go up as far as Applecross or even Ullapool and enjoy more of what Scotland can offer. yes the road to Durness is to me the most spectacular road in Scotland for scenery but you have to take in all the little single track roads to get to the best places. this all depends on how many days you have and how many miles you ride during a day. |
