Majority of schools up here break up for summer Friday 26th June 2009, don't know if that's a consideration but you may prefer to go the week before to minimise congestion etc

Good thinking Batman------Yes I would prefer the week before the schools breakup.
That would make the amended dates 19th June till 29th June

Very well, i have pencilled in 19th through to 30th June for the time being, that will give me an extra day to rest & clean the midgies off my bike before returning to work.

Regarding Broadford I-of-Skye I was hoping to go down the A87 "Road to the Isles" which has some impressive scenery and is a good road compared to the Mallaig/Ferry route
The route from Oban would be A828 round the coast to Ballachulish, then on the A82 up the"Great Glen" as far as Invergarry, where you pick up the A87.

P.S. We have never done this road on any of the previous trips.[A87].

There is an ESSO just outside Fort William plus one when you leave Oban

No, I did it deliberately. Everyone's bike got done (it was Pegasus' idea), did Foey actually fall for it? Superb!

Anyway, I'll be my usual 2 or 3 nights somewhere in the Stirling/Oban/Broadford/Ullapool bit. Which 2 or 3 it is I'll let you know as soon as I do.

This sounds more and more tempting but I don't think I can spare that much leave at all tbh
