Re: The rideout thread...
It all comes down to the weather. Saturday's looking dismal so I'll be taking a loose wheel for a tyre fitting.
Fingers crossed for dry weather on Sunday.

Re: The rideout thread...
I don't know about the quality of their work, but even if the prices are good they are taking the **** royally!
Ok DWR are one of the more expensive garages, but i've just turned up there in the past and got stuff sorted. They are a good garage and are usually really busy and if they cant see to it immediately they will let you know when they will get to it. I can't think of when i've had a broken promise from them. If they say they will do something by a certain time then they deliver. They let you know if anything unexpected has popped up and if its cheap they fix it at their discretion, often without charging extra. Ok the price is good and collection is a great bonus, but IMHO they're seriously out of order for keeping it so long. I'm no mechanic, but they should be able to sort it pretty quickly if they wanted to. |

Re: The rideout thread...
It went in for cam chain , new chain & sprockets, new horn and replacement fork oil.. Everything bar the cam chain was done in the first day or two but the cam chain has been the problem. It arrived late then they found a siezed bolt which took several days of soaking in something to free it up and now he says its a bigger job than he thought, he had to strip it down a lot futher which would have cost a lot more if he hadn't quoted me already!
To be fair I did tell him i'm not in any rush as I don't commute on it.. |
