Tsk. I got 12'000 miles out of my rear 021. I just hope the Storm lasts as long, bloody M'way mileage!

12000? Fear it!

I used to get 2000 miles from a set of D207RRs and the horrible Dunlop rear that came on the SV has lasted 4000. The Continental somethingorother on the RGV has done about 700 miles so far and it's on the way out.

Maybe it's the way I ride!?

Possibly.

Although when I had my ZX7R's I got about 2000 out of the rears due to lots of burnouts. Young hoodlums eh!?

Hey if you can afford to put road legal race rep tyres on yer bike all good. But I think the majority of people are looking inside their empty pockets when deciding what hoops to buy.

Most I would suggest buy sports touring and I'd also say average mileage out of them would be around 5-6k. If your not getting anywhere near that on a sports touring tyre then your either spinning the rear and sliding the front like Haydon or Rossi out of every corner or your riding with under inflated/over inflated tyres. Oh, or riding a bike with out any suspension.

i am waiting for the rubbish on my ZZR to wear out so I can put some decent rubber on it (I can't justify ditching two nearly new tyres). It makes such a difference, particularly in the wet, i'd never buy a Maxis tyre like the last owner did - what a pile of pants. I have so much more confidence in the Z6's, and it can't all be down to the SV being lighter.

More Rossi than Haydon, thankyouverymuch.

Oh come now. Haydon is king of the slide.

The glory days of the rear wheel slide are 10 or 15 years ago, at least. The era of the pre-big-bang 500s.

Years ago they maybe, but still not forgotten. Just waiting for motorcycle racing to go the same way as F1. Loose the electronics.

Yeah. And bring back the two-strokes. But keep the 800cc engines. Carnage!
